Students Reach Out to Needy Families During the Holiday Season

Tuesday, December 06, 2016

Students led the charge to collect non-perishable food and other donations for the 24th annual Harvest Drive. “Children Helping Children” was the theme of this year’s Harvest Drive event, with over 200 Broward schools hosting efforts to reach the goal of providing 2,400 needy families (over 10,000 Broward residents) with Thanksgiving dinner. School clubs collected large quantities of food donations from Publix and Wal-Mart supermarkets throughout the county. Community businesses, corporations, civic organizations, Parent Teacher Associations, volunteer organizations and individual donors provided monetary donations to purchase perishable food and gift cards.
