The Original Location of Fort Lauderdale High School Honored with Historical Marker

Thursday, June 22, 2017
On Saturday, June 24, 2017, a State of Florida historical marker will officially commemorate the original site of Fort Lauderdale High School at SE Third Avenue and Broward Boulevard. The original high school was dedicated on September 16, 1915 and educated students at that location until 1962.

The Class of 1962 from Fort Lauderdale High School created this project to ensure a historical marker would be placed to designate and honor Broward County’s first high school.
