During the 2014/15 school year, more than 42,000 school volunteers of various ages, interests and backgrounds donated 473,967 documented hours to schools and students through the District. Using the nationally accepted dollar value for volunteer time, these hours equate to an estimated $10.9 million in services given to schools. The CIA event recognizes and rewards the efforts of the individuals and organizations that give so much to BCPS students and schools. The CIA event is a collaboration of the Public Information Office, the Office of Strategy and Continuous Improvement, and the Office of Student Support Initiatives.
