BCPS 5th Annual Above the Influence March Expected to Draw Thousands

Students Celebrate Making the Right Choices March for a Healthy Future
 
On Saturday, December 9, 2017, thousands of students from across Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) will come together for the 5th Annual Above the Influence March – at the City of Miramar Memorial Park and Amphitheater. The annual march helps bolster students’ confidence in standing up to negative pressures and influences, including drugs and alcohol, bullying and fighting, discrimination, or other destructive behaviors and attitudes. In focusing on the positive influences in their lives, students celebrate their choice to live “Above the Influence.”

This year’s Above the Influence March is supported by the city of Miramar, United Way of Broward County, Florida Health Broward County, Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and Children’s Services Council of Broward County.
 
The festivities will include marching bands, cheerleaders and drill teams from BCPS elementary, middle and high schools. Following the march, there will be a special battle of the bands and youth performances.
