BCPS Celebrates El Dia de Los Niños Annual Celebration of Children, Families and Reading

As part of the District’s El Dia de Los Niños celebration, School Board members, Superintendent Runcie, District staff and community members will read the book, “The Bossy Gallito/El Gallo de Bodas,” to pre-k and kindergarten students across Broward County Public Schools (BCPS). Join Superintendent Runcie and Lucia Gonzalez, author of “The Bossy Gallito/El Gallo de Bodas,” as they read to students at Harbordale Elementary School.

El Dia de Los Niños is a celebration that emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. As part of the celebration, schools with pre-k 
and/or kindergarten programs in Broward County received a copy of the book, thanks to a partnership between the District’s English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Early Learning/School Readiness departments, as well as multiple early childhood education stakeholders.
