BCPS Gears Up for Jumpstart’s Read for the Record®

Wednesday, October 01, 2014

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is excited to join Jumpstart’s Read for the Record® campaign, which takes place on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. This year’s book is “Bunny Cakes,” by Rosemary Wells.   Jumpstart’s Read for the Record® is aimed at celebrating literacy and promoting the importance of high-quality early childhood education.  The goal is to break the world record for people reading the same book on the same day.

Members of the community can help support this incredible event by signing up to be a guest reader at a participating Broward County school or local Pre-Kindergarten center.  For registration details, visit:

This year, BCPS is partnering with the Children’s Services Council of Broward, local businesses, non-profit organizations and other community stakeholders to provide a free copy of “Bunny Cakes”  to all 4-and 5-year old students across the county, impacting up to 40,000 children..
