10th Annual Back to School Family Health Fair – A Free Event

The annual Back to School Family Health Fair is an ongoing effort to provide free health services and resources to BCPS families and communities. Services provided at the health fair will include immunizations, school physical exams, vision screening, BMI screening, blood pressure screening, hearing and dental screenings, HIV screening, and mental and behavioral health supports for children. In addition, social services and information from health insurance providers will be available.
Also, State Representative Bobby B. DuBose (District 94) has coordinated efforts with Feeding South Florida, Inc. to provide fresh produce free to families and the community during the health fair. Broward County School Board Member Dr. Rosalind Osgood, representing District 5, will speak to participants about the serious risk and harmful effects of the new synthetic drug “flakka” and what the community needs to do to combat its use and drug trafficking.
Community partners and supporting sponsors of the health fair include: BrightStar Credit Union, Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department, Broward Health, Holy Cross Hospital, and numerous health services providers.
