BCPS Partners With Broward College to Host FAFSA Workshops

Monday, March 30, 2015
The Florida College Access Network estimates that Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) graduating class of 2014 missed out on a total of $150 million in federal financial aid due to not completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

In an effort to ensure that BCPS students receive as much federal financial aid as possible, the District has partnered with Broward College to provide free workshops, which help students and parents complete their FAFSA form. Federal financial aid can reduce or assist students in their education expenses at an eligible college, university or technical school. The FAFSA is free to complete.

There are two upcoming events at Hallandale High School to support students and families in completing the FAFSA and to provide information on other means of financial aid and scholarships. The events take place on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at 6 p.m., and Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 6 p.m. Hallandale High School is located at 720 NW 9th Avenue, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009.
