Broward's Healthiest Elementary Schools Receive a Visit from Sportacus

WHO:             Sunset Lakes Elementary School kindergarten through third-grade students will learn some superhero, high energy moves from Sportacus on Friday, March 7 at 1 p.m. Sunset Lakes Elementary is one of three schools being recognized as “Broward’s Healthiest Elementary School” by Coventry Health Care, an Aetna company and the American Heart Association. In addition to a monetary donation from Coventry, the winning schools will receive a special visit from Sportacus, the star of the TV series, LazyTown. LazyTown airs nationally on NBC, Telemundo, Sprout and Netflix. The award-winning series motivates young children to make healthy lifestyle choices. 
WHAT:           More than 400 students will meet Sportacus and learn some high energy superhero moves during a 30-minute assembly designed to inspire students to live a healthy lifestyle.

WHY:             The wining schools were selected through a video contest, which schools were invited to submit a two-minute video that demonstrated how their students play and eat for better health.  In addition to Sunset Lakes, Cypress Elementary School and Nova Eisenhower Elementary School are also winners. The winning schools will all receive a visit from Sportacus and a $250 donation from Coventry Health Care.
