As part of its Garden Delight Program, through the Broward Education Foundation, Liberty Elementary School STEM students welcome celebrity Chef Lauren Von Der Pool. Chef Von Der Pool will present a food demonstration for students, teaching them how to prepare vegan and raw cuisine. The visit will wrap up with a tree planting in the school’s garden.
Over the past decade, Chef Von Der Pool's commitment to everything "green" earned her an invite to the White House to speak on a panel with former Energy Secretary, Steven Chu and Interior Secretary, Ken Salazar. Lauren is also a chef in First Lady Michelle Obama's obesity prevention campaign.

Along with educating the community and traveling around the world with her celebrity clients, such as world class tennis champs Venus and Serena Williams and Hip Hop rapper/actor/author Common, she has spent her time working as an apprentice to Wolfgang Puck.
