Dillard High School will celebrate its newest milestone – the inauguration of the Dillard High School 6 – 12 – with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The ceremony is a celebration of the addition of the school’s new middle school component. Beginning this school year, Dillard welcomed middle school students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
Dillard High School is also celebrating its rich history, which began with the school’s opening in 1937. Dillard is home to two of Broward County Public Schools premier magnet programs – the Dillard Center for the Performing Arts Magnet and the Emerging Computer Technology Magnet – and the new Digital Entrepreneurial Magnet.
In addition, Dillard has partnered with NFTE (Networking for Teaching Entrepreneurship) and LEEO (Linking Education and Employment Outcomes) to inspire students to stay in school, recognize business opportunities, and plan for successful futures locally and abroad. Through the addition of the new Digital Entrepreneurial Magnet, sixth through eighth grade students will have the opportunity to receive certification in Microsoft Office in sixth grade, PowerPoint in seventh grade and Excel in eighth grade. The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting cerebration.
