Maplewood Elementary School Hosts 2nd Annual Young Athletes Special Olympics

Broward County Public Schools Maplewood Elementary School celebrates its 2nd Annual Young Athletes Special Olympics.  Student athletes, parents, staff and supporters will all converge on this encouraging and uplifting event.

WHY: Maplewood Elementary Special Olympics pairs 4th and 5th grade students as peer buddies with Pre-K and Exceptional Education Student (ESE) students. The initiative, called the Play Pals, aims to integrate ESE students into the school community and helps students with disabilities to receive athletic, academic and social peer support.
