Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for South Broward High School Aquatic Center
Thursday, May 1, 2014
South Broward High School
1901 North Federal Highway
Hollywood, Florida 33020
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony marks the grand opening of the school’s new state-of-the-art Aquatic Center. Construction on the new aquatic center took approximately 1½ years to complete. The Aquatic Center’s competition sized pool will be used to support South Broward’s athletic and academic programs, including swim teams, water polo teams and South Broward’s Marine Magnet Program. Students on the school’s ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) Team will also use the pool as a test site for their underwater robotic vehicles, which they design and build for student competitions. The Marine Magnet Program has a strong focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
