School Board Elects Donna P Korn Chair; Dr. Rosalind Osgood Vice Chair

In a unanimous vote today, Tuesday, November 18, 2014, Broward County School Board members elected Donna P. Korn Chair and Dr. Rosalind Osgood Vice Chair. The nominations and voting took place during the School Board’s Annual Organization Meeting, following the swearing-in ceremony for re-elected School Board members.
Donna P. Korn was appointed by Governor Rick Scott in August 2011 to fill the School Board District 4 Seat, and previously served as the Board’s Vice Chair. She was elected in November 2012 to represent the Countywide At-Large, Seat 8, and was re-elected to the seat in the November 2014 election. Korn is a Broward County Public Schools graduate of Western High School in Davie. She earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Emory University and has completed courses towards a Master's degree in Urban Education at Florida International University.
Dr. Rosalind Osgood, a Broward County native, was elected in November 2014 to represent District 5.  She is a Broward County Public Schools graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School. She has earned both a Master’s and Doctoral degree in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University.  She has also earned a Master’s of Divinity degree from New Orleans Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Six School Board members, all re-elected in the November 2014 election, were sworn in at a ceremony held at the Dillard Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale. Members sworn in were Heather P. Brinkworth, District 3; Abby Freedman, District 4; Donna P. Korn, Countywide At-Large, Seat 8; Laurie Rich Levinson, District 6; Ann Murray, District 1; and Nora Rupert, District 7.
Other School Board members serving current terms include, Patricia Good, District 2; Robin Bartlelman, Countywide At-Large, Seat 9; and Dr. Rosalind Osgood, District 5.
