The 2016 season of School Duel, South Florida’s premier academic quiz show, kicks off on Thursday, January 28, 2016, as J. P. Taravella High School competes against Pompano Beach High School in an exciting first round game. School Duel airs Thursdays at 7 p.m., on channel 63 on AT&T U-verse, Direct TV and Dish Network. Comcast viewers can watch School Duel on channel 19.
School Duel, which is produced by Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) BECON-TV (Broward Education Communications Network), features 20 high school teams from Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties. The four-member teams compete in a single-elimination tournament to determine South Florida's School Duel champion.
This season, players on the winning team will each receive $1,000 from sponsors Chick-fil-A and BrightStar Credit Union, a championship trophy from EDCO Awards and Specialties, gift certificates and much more.
