West Broward High School Math teacher Horace Buddoo is receiving a special honor. He is being named a Master Teacher as part of the Better Lessons Master Teacher project. Buddoo, who has taught a wide range of courses from Algebra to AP Calculus, is one of two West Broward High School teachers chosen to participate in this project; English teacher Dr. Elizabeth Watts was also recently announced.
The Master Teacher project aims to create exemplary common core aligned courses, units, and lessons that will be free and available to teachers nationwide. The project, which is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, also provides recognition and professional opportunities to exceptional teachers around the country.
“This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Master Teachers across the United States who are really passionate about teaching,” said Buddoo. “We get to bring our experiences, knowledge, ideas, ingenuity, and innovation together to create something that will definitely be greater than the sum of its parts. I have no doubt that our Common Core aligned lessons will be the gold standard for math education in the years to come.”
