Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) will celebrate students who have achieved perfect attendance at its fourth annual Best-in-Class and Perfect Attendance Awards ceremony on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 6:30 p.m., Plantation High School Auditorium, 6901 NW 16th Street, Plantation.
 
The Hollywood Hills High School Military Academy JROTC Drill Team made Broward County history by competing in two major competitions on the same day, ranking among the best in the nation and state.

Parents and guardians interested in submitting a 2015/16 School Choice late application for magnet and reassignment seats still available following the original application window earlier this year, can do so starting Friday, May 1, 2015.
 
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) congratulates Superintendent Robert W. Runcie on being named the 2015 Hispanic-Serving School District (HSSD) Superintendent of the Year by the Association for Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS).
 
As part of the District’s El Dia de Los Niños celebration, School Board members, Superintendent Runcie, District staff and community members will read the book, “The Bossy Gallito/El Gallo de Bodas,” to pre-k and  kindergarten students across Broward County Public Schools (BCPS).
 
Congratulations to Cypress Bay High School senior Marianne T. Aguilar, on being named a 2015 National Merit Scholar by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
 
Congratulations to Fort Lauderdale High School for earning top 50 placement on “America’s Most Challenging High Schools” 2015 list by The Washington Post.
 
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) high school juniors at six schools had the unique opportunity to take the ACT and College Board's SAT during their regular school day. 
 
Nova Middle School and Nova High School hosted an interactive civil rights forum welcoming Seagull Alternative High School, Stranahan High School, Dillard High School and the College Academy to the high school campus, on April 17, 2015.

Congratulations to Falcon Cove Middle School seventh grade Prevention Squad team on being named a state winner in the 13th annual eCYBERMISSION competition by the U.S. Army Educational Outreach Program.
 
South Plantation High School Earth Day Plenary Session at GEER Conference.
 
The Broward SECME – STEM Olympiad includes fun, interactive competitions with student teams from schools across Broward County.
 
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is seeking bright, motivated, and dedicated educators prepared to provide inspirational leadership to our students for the 2015-2016 school year.  Our Back-to-School Teacher Recruitment Fair offers site-based hiring to enable prospective educators to interview with hiring principals and find their fit within the district. 
 
Congratulations to Sarah Beauchamp, English teacher and debate coach at McArthur High School, for being named a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). Beauchamp was honored at a recognition event on March 28, 2015, held at Florida International University in Miami.
 
Congratulations to Christopher Gates, technology specialist at Broward Virtual School, for being named a finalist for the statewide 2015 Florida School-Related Employee of the Year award.
 
Broward Virtual School (BVS) parents, students and staff are launching a live Pilates 4 Youth broadcast series to elementary schools across the District. In partnership with Holy Cross Hospital, schools will have the opportunity to experience Pilates at their school sites through a live interactive four-week session via distance learning. 
 
Today, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of eight Broward County Public Schools outstanding African-American high school seniors who have won Achievement Scholarship awards through the National Achievement Scholarship Program.
 
The Miami HEAT will join Lauderhill Paul Turner Elementary in a pep rally celebrating the school’s first place win for the How Low Can You Go? contest. 
 
The Parent/Community Involvement Task Force and Office of Parent Engagement are excited to present The 411 on Parent Engagement Conference, Saturday, April 11, 2015, 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., at Piper High School.
 
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) honored its finest at the 2015 Caliber Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale.
 
Congratulations to six students from South Plantation High School who ranked first place in the 2015 NASA Florida Student Astronaut Challenge (FSAC), held at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. 
 
Congratulations to the Dillard High School Sigmac@t robotic team on their second consecutive first place win at the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) 2015 Peachtree Regional Robotic Competition, held in Atlanta, Georgia. The team placed first after defeating 64 teams from around the country.
