Parents and Visitors
Coming to Visit?
All visitors including parents must check into the front office prior to going to any classrooms or any area on campus. You should bring an official photo ID with you, like your driver’s license, Florida’s official state identification card, or a passport.
S.T.A.R. (Security Track and Response)
Keeping students safe is a priority at Quiet Waters Elementary School. When visiting our campus this year, you will immediately notice a system for tracking all visitors. This system, known as STAR, offers many advantages, including immediate sexual offenders and predators background checks. It also provides electronic tracking of students arriving late and/or leaving early, on-line volunteer registration, and other great features that will help us increase both school safety and the involvement of the whole community in helping our students.
As a valued member of our school family, we ask that you report to the front office whenever you visit our campus for any reason. Our friendly office staff will assist you in recording your visit using the STAR System. It is most important that you bring an official photo ID with you. This may be your driver’s license, Florida’s official state identification card, or a current passport.
The first step to becoming one of our treasured school volunteers is to go on-line to BCPS Get Involved website and complete a volunteer application. Choose Quiet Waters Elementary as your school preference. When your application is approved, we will contact you with further information.
For complete instructions on how volunteers should use the STAR System to sign in and out, and the additional screening requirements for field-trip chaperones and other specific volunteer roles, please contact Nina Cohen, our Volunteer Coordinator (754) 322-8100.
We appreciate your continued commitment to our students. Your patience during our transition to the STAR System will be very much appreciated. Together we will continue to create a safe and secure learning environment for our students.
