Our school is proud to provide a safe and secure learning environment - an environment that fosters intellectual development, creativity, and friendships.  We follow the policies and guidelines outlined in the District Code of Conduct book.  These policies and guidelines enable us to create, sustain, and grow this wonderful community at McNab Elementary.  Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our School Policies.

    McNab Campus Safety

The tragic events that took place in Parkland has really hit home with the McNab community and, undoubtedly, most educators.  While our thoughts, prayers, and heart remains with Sandy Hook Elementary, Stoneman Douglas, and the community, we now have a renewed focus on maintaining and improving a safe and healthy learning environment. Please understand that we now have some new procedures in place that require more patience. Just remember that these procedures are ultimately done to improve the safety of our campus for our students.

  • Anti-Bullying

The School Board of Broward County has one of the nation’s most comprehensive Anti-Bullying policies. Policy 5.9, adopted on July 22, 2008, helps to ensure all students feel safe and respected while attending school. The District’s Anti-Bullying Policy specifically prohibits bullying of or by any District student or employee.

  • Arrival and Dismissal

Controlling School Traffic is Essential for Safety

School begins promptly at 8:00 AM.  Students should be in class ready to learn at 8:00 AM.  Please plan your morning accordingly so your child is in class by 8:00 AM. Students who eat breakfast at school must be in the cafeteria by 7:45 if they arrive in a car, ride a bike, or walk to school.

Students should be picked up and dropped off at the car loop only.

While in the car loop, please do not use your cell phones.  This is a safety hazard.

Students should only enter and exit your vehicle from the passenger side of the car.

Please pull up as far as you can to help maximize the space utilized for drop off and pick up.

Parents are not allowed to walk their children to their classrooms.

BCPS to Launch New Policy Feedback Option

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is developing a new online tool to allow all stakeholders the opportunity to comment on recommended policy revisions. The Rules Under Review Online Resource outlines the policies currently under review, provides documentation detailing the recommended revisions, identifies upcoming Board Meetings where the policy will be discussed, and provides opportunities for individuals in the community to provide feedback without having to attend a meeting in person. Visit the Rules Under Review Online Resource.

  • Discipline Matrix

The Discipline Matrix is a tool for administrators to respond appropriately when students have committed serious violations, per the Code of Student Conduct. This tool is designed to offer consistency at all levels across the District so that students are disciplined fairly from school to school when their behavior requires punishment beyond the classroom.
