Assistant Principal's Message

  • Dolphin Families,

During this time of uncertainty, I know we’re ALL (School and Home) doing our very best to help our students. Teachers and parents remember to take a deep breath and every day work toward progress, not perfection. You’ve got this!

E-Learning is new to everyone. I want to remind you that this is hard, temporary, and we are all in it together. I also want to thank all of you for working through the technical glitches as we really start to find our groove for online instruction. Our teachers are working SO hard to master teaching using this method. However, I am confident that it will just get better and better each week as everyone adjusts to the new routines!

We must remember that the ultimate goal is to assist our students to continue their learning. The most important learning that they are doing right now is learning how to respond to hard and new situations. As their administrators, teachers, and parents, we are their role models. We are modeling how to be flexible, kind, patient, and to be innovative in challenging times.

Here are some things to keep in mind:

    1. Do the best you can: Just know you are trying your best.
    2. Expect trial and error: Don’t get too tired from the first time you try. Stay flexible.
    3. Acknowledge the extraordinary: Take deep breaths and lead your situation with incredible empathy. Hug your children tighter and assure them that everything will be OK.

I want to take this opportunity to shout out and recognize the incredible work of our district, teachers, and staff. We know that distance learning is not ideal, but we are all doing our absolute best to keep everyone SAFE.

I would like to thank you parents for your continued support as we forgo into a new, but temporary, normal together.

Finally, even though we see our students virtually daily, we can’t wait for this to end and see them face to face.
