Being on time for school is a valuable part of a child's learning and should be stressed. School is the workplace of our students. By being punctual, the student will have the needed time to prepare himself/herself for the day's work in a relaxed manner and will ensure that daily instruction is not missed.

Tardiness may also count toward establishing a pattern of non-attendance that may indicate early signs of truancy.

A student is considered tardy if he/she arrives in class after 8:15 a.m. Students arriving after 8:15 a.m. but before 8:30 a.m. are still considered tardy. These students need to report directly to their classroom. Students arriving after 8:30 a.m. must be escorted to the main office and signed-in by their parent. There is a need to stress punctuality. A tardy is excused for the same reasons that an absence is excused. You will receive notice if your child is consistently tardy. (Excused and unexcused absences and tardies will be noted on the student’s progress report.)
