    Message from Mrs. Hall

    Greetings Parkside Families (updated 5/29/2020),

I want to thank all of the families who came out this week during their designated days to pick up your child's belongings.  We really appreciate you taking the time to do this.  We still have some items that sadly we will dispose of next week.  Our goal has been to do the best we can to accommodate you with this process but we cannot store these items all summer.  Thank you for understanding.

We want to give a BIG shout out to all of our 5th grade students.  Today we celebrated them the best way we could by having a car line parade.  It was so nice seeing all of the many students who were able to come out and enjoy this time.  It was really bitter sweet saying goodbye the way we did.  We really wish all of you the very best in your next adventures heading off to middle school.  Please know we love you and we know that you are all going to do amazing things in life.  Come back and visit us when you you can.

Next week is the final few days left in our school year.  Teachers are wrapping up their awards and academics for the year.  We again want to thank all of our staff for their continued effort in making this process go as smoothly as possibly.  We also want to thank you for all of your efforts throughout this process.  On Tuesday is it our last day with students.  There will be some resources still available for students throughout the summer.  As soon as we know exactly which resources that will be available I will send out a link to our families.

Please take a moment to look around your homes over the weekend and see if you have nay library books, teacher classroom books, or leveled books to be returned to the school.  You also can return your laptop if you borrowed one and you are not going to another Broward County Public School or if you are moving out of state.  We will have limited staff working next week.  Please call us to return these items.

As many of you all have heard, we are in the planning phases for the next school year and what the model will look like as far as school openings for the 20-21 school year.  There is a survey that you can access on our website to provide feedback to our District planning teams.  I encourage you to take the time to provide your input.  I will also be sending out weekly updates as I receive them throughout the summer letting you know where we are in the process.  We will be open, but we are not certain as to what the model will look like.

I want to again say THANK YOU from me and my staff for the amazing parents and students we have here at Parkside.  We love you all and will truly miss you this summer.  Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for being a part of Parkside Where we are Proud to be Virtual Learners.

    Laneia Hall, Principal
