Assistant Principal's Message

  • Photo of Mr. Favata  Dear Wildcat Family,

My name is Anthony Favata and it is a great honor to be the new assistant principal of Walker Elementary School!  This is my 16th year working for Broward County Public Schools and I am very excited to be joining the outstanding Walker staff under the leadership of our awesome principal Mr. Eligon!  As your assistant principal, it is my goal to ensure that ALL students achieve social and academic excellence in addition to becoming life-long learners.  In order for students to reach their highest potential, I believe we must respect and embrace diverse learning styles as we focus on meeting the individual needs of each and every student.  Additionally, at Walker Elementary we will ensure a welcoming learning environment where parents, students, staff, and outside stakeholders come together and work with one another as a community of leaders and learners.

As we begin the 2019-2020 school year, I am greatly looking forward to meeting each and every one of you.  I am a firm believer in the importance of building strong, trusting relationships with all of my students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders.  By building strong relationships within the school and community, Walker Elementary will be a dynamic organization that works together, learns from one another, and accomplishes great things!

At Walker Elementary we will also maintain a safe and positive school climate that nurtures development and learning.  We will emphasize trust, cooperation, and respect while valuing the different backgrounds, cultures, and intelligences of our many students.  By providing a safe, supportive, and child-centered learning environment, we can ensure long-term success for all of our students.  Furthermore, Walker Elementary will obtain maximum efficiency through the use of teamwork and collaboration in which we emphasize participation, ideas, and feedback from all. A successful school culture consists of actively engaged families combined with highly effective teachers and school leaders.  With the best staff in Broward County and all of you amazing families, I know we will have a very successful year!

It is a great pleasure for me to get to call Walker Elementary my home, and I want to personally thank each and every one of you for entrusting your children with us each day.  It is going to be an incredible school year and I am very excited to be a part of the Walker Elementary Family!  If you need anything at all, my door is always open.
