Principal's Message

  • Dear Parents,

Welcome Back to the 2019/2020 school year.  It is an honor to report that Ramblewood Elementary has earned a “B” for the 18/19 school year.   Congratulations to our teachers, students and staff.  Job well done!  I am proud to be the principal of Ramblewood and excited to be part of a wonderful school community.  I am a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child and we need to continue to work together towards a path of higher learning. The emphasis this year will be to ensure that each child is college and career ready and your help will be needed.  Please talk with your child about their day at school.  Don't forget to check book bags for homework or other notes daily.

Many exciting things are happening at our school this year, Ramblewood Elementary will continue with our Dual Language program in Kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, fourth grade and fifth grade, then next year expand the program to Ramblewood Middle School.  The goal of this program is to provide students with the opportunity to become fully bilingual by learning listening, speaking, reading and writing in English and in Spanish.

Our school hours are 7:55 am – 2:00 pm, supervision and breakfast begins at 7:30.  If you need before and after care, “Ramblewood Elementary Before and After Care” is available before school from 6:45 am – 7:45 am and after school from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.  The aftercare program offers a variety of activities such as Homework Help, Yoga/Zumba, MakerSpace, Drama/Charades, Lego Club, Cooking, Dimention U, Game Room, Computer/Technology and Arts and Crafts just to name a few.  They are on FaceBook @ramblewood aftercare.

Don’t forget Ramblewood is a uniform school.  My expectation is that every child wear their uniform and/or school colors.  Waivers are available in the front office if needed.

Ramblewood Elementary is a Title 1 school, which means we get additional funds from the federal government.  There are specific guidelines we must follow and funding is based on our free/reduced lunch rate.  The goal of Title 1 is to ensure that all children obtain a high-quality education and are successful.  Look for additional information to come regarding Title 1.

If you haven’t joined PTO, I encourage you to do so.  PTO provides in-house field trips for students, technology purchases for classrooms, organizes fundraisers for the school, sells uniforms shirts/spirit shirts, plans social events for our families and much more.  Their touch is felt all over the school.  Please support their efforts by joining today.  If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out a form at https://www.browardschools.com/volunteerapplication.  As a result of the many hours our volunteers have given to our school, we received the Golden School Award again this year.

Please take some time to visit our school website ww.ramblewoodelem.browardschools.com and review the wealth of resources and various links available on the homepage.  I encourage you to visit the site often as it is updated frequently.  Be sure to look for upcoming scheduled events on the school calendar and important updates!  Looking forward to a successful school year!
