Principal Frazier Bio
Principal Steve Frazier has worked for Broward Public Schools for over 30 years as a language arts teacher, assistant principal, and principal. He has been a principal for over sixteen years and is currently the principal at Silver Trail Middle School; he has been at Silver Trail Middle School since July 2009. Prior to this, he served as principal at Henry D. Perry Middle School.
As principal, he continues to participate in the Middle School Principals Executive Board and has been for over fourteen years. During the 2011-2012 school year, he was elected as the Middle-Level Chairperson. He also serves as an Innovation Zone Facilitator, is a DDI Certified Trainer and conducts and participates in professional development and panels for various Talent Development Leadership Programs (i.e. LEAD, Interim AP & Interim Principal Programs, etc.). He has been a Principal Mentor for several candidates as well.
Principal Frazier has been a long-standing member of the Broward Principals’ & Assistants’ Association (BPAA) and has served on the Board of Directors since 1999. He is currently the BPAA Treasurer and has served in this position for fourteen years.
Besides being active on BPAA’s Board of Directors, Principal Frazier is currently the President of the Florida Association of Secondary School Principals (FASSP). He also serves as the South Region Director for the Florida Association of School Administrators (FASA). Additionally, Principal Frazier serves as the Executive Director for the Florida League of Middle Schools (FLMS), and he also serves as the President & Co-Founder of EduPride, an advocacy group for LGBTQ school employees and students.
Most recently, Principal Frazier received the Paul S. George Award recognizing his lifelong leadership and service for the advancement of middle school level education in the state of Florida. The Florida Council of PTA recognized Principal Frazier as the 2014 Florida Outstanding Principal of the Year. They also recognized him with the Welfare for Children Award in 2017. In 2007, he received the Outstanding Educator Award presented by Eastern Financial.
