Mr. Armando Alejo
Viking parents, students, and community members, it is with GREAT pleasure that I serve as your 7th grade Assistant Principal. My last ten years have been spent serving as a behavior specialist, instructional coach, teacher and administrator for Broward County Schools. In those roles, I was able to instill my passion for doing what's best for our kids everyday. Having spent most of my career at the middle school level, I have an insider's perspective into what it takes to make a successful transition into seventh grade and beyond. I invite you to take an active role in your student’s education. Stop in and see us, we cannot do it without your support!
I am VERY excited about being a Viking and the opportunity to serve your community! If you have any questions, comments or concerns my door is always open.
Mr. Armando Alejo was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Hialeah, a suburb of the city of Miami, Florida. In 2005 his true calling was realized and he made a career change from Accounting to Education. Following the footsteps of his mother and two brothers, who are also administrators, he is the fourth member of his family to serve in education. Mr. Alejo began his career in Education as a Math teacher, also working as an Athletic Director and Instructional coach before being appointed as an Assistant Principal at Fort Lauderdale High school. He earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Florida International University and Master's in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic. Lastly, Mr. Alejo was selected by the state for development of FCAT and EOC assessments for the past three consecutive years.
