    6th Grade Assistant Principal

    Orinthia Dias Greetings Rickards Community,

Welcome to another phenomenal year of academic success and achievement! It is my pleasure to serve as your 6th Grade Administrator for my 2nd year at Rickards. As a proud Broward County School graduate, hailing from Boyd Anderson High School, I understand what it takes to be successful in our school system. My elementary and middle school background in classroom instruction, coaching and administration gives me the opportunity to meet the individual needs of my 6th grade students as they transition into the next phase of their learning career.

This year we are On "A" Mission to Be Outstanding and we are off to a great start. Our students did a nice job making gains in all content areas in 2017-2018 and we are looking forward to seeing them move beyond their expected targets again this year.
In addition, we invite our students to continue to participate in our after school sports and activities as we work to make each child a well-rounded person who is ready to be a part of the community.
Parents, you partnership is always welcome. Please do not hesitate to join us at our PTSA and SAC meetings to hear the latest and greatest news happening at our school. You are a valued member of our team so we need you here, doing as much as possible to assist us in working to make Rickards Middle the outstanding school that it our community knows and loves.
As always, I am here to help in any and all situations. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or feedback.

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Dias

Dr. Kwan Drake, Assistant Principal Dear Parent & Students:
I am pleased to welcome you to the 2018-19 school year! The focus for this year is to expect excellence for every child everyday. As an instructional leader, I have the good fortune of working closely with our principal, Dr. Washington Collado and our Instructional Staff, to provide an environment that is conducive to effective teaching and measured learning for all students. As a result, our students will demonstrate high achievement by making gains in learning in addition to growing in the characteristics of good citizenship. I am inviting all members of the Rickards’ community to continue to take part in our journey to maximize each student’s potential, as it takes a whole village to raise a child.
We will only achieve our goals by working in partnership with all stakeholders, so I encourage you to play a part in your student's education and get involved. Look for regular updates and visit our school website often.
If I can be of assistance to you and your child, please feel free to contact me at (754) 322-4414. I am here to serve and meet the learning needs of the children of our school.
    Sincerely,
    Dr. Kwan Drake
