Principal's Message

    Juan C. Alejo

    Welcome Back Bobcat Families!

It is an honor and a privilege to serve once again as Principal of Boulevard Heights Elementary School.  Our faculty and staff are highly qualified and committed to serving ALL students and their families. Our goal for the 2018- 2019 school year is to provide students a high standards education in every classroom, everyday. We are committed to this goal and look forward to celebrating our successes with you.

Boulevard Heights now offers Dual Language classes on all grade levels to help accelerate student learning, giving them opportunities to engage in language bi-literacy.  BHE is also an Autistic Spectrum Disorder Cluster site, housing six ASD and four Pre-K classrooms. For second language learners or students in need of intensive academic support, we offer smaller group differentiated instruction and camps.  This year, we plan to expand student access to technology with the purchase of hundreds of student laptops. We also offer a variety of clubs on campus for our Bobcats, such as Dance, Environmental, Chorus and Chess, giving them the opportunity to develop their various talents.

Close collaboration between school and home is essential for the success of our students. We encourage parents to review the information provided in our school’s website, student agenda and first day folder to gain familiarity of the school’s policies, procedures and services that are available at our school. We also encourage our parents to visit our school and attend scheduled meetings. Mutual benefits build when there is meaningful exchange of information between home and school.

Boulevard Heights Elementary has a volunteer program in place that for many years now. Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA), School Advisory Council (SAC) and School Advisory Forum (SAF) are always actively looking for participants. I urge you to join and support the PTA in whatever manner your schedule allows. Your child will benefit. Finally, our school has been recognized with the Golden School Award by the State of Florida for outstanding volunteer participation.

I look forward to another successful 2018 – 2019 school year. Together we will continue to achieve new heights.
