WELCOME BACK BOBCAT FAMILIES!  - Welcome Letter - Mr. Alejo

It is an honor and a privilege to serve you and your children once again! Our faculty and staff are highly qualified and committed to serving ALL students and their families. Our goal for the 2020 – 2021 school year is to provide students a high-quality education centered around the Florida Standards in every classroom, every day. We are committed to this goal and look forward to celebrating our successes with you.

Boulevard Heights offers Dual Language classes on all grade levels to help accelerate student learning, giving them the opportunities to engage in language bi-literacy. BHE is an Autism Spectrum Disorder Cluster site, housing five ASD classrooms and two Pre-K classrooms. For second language learners and students in need of intensive academic support, we offer smaller group differentiated instruction and before/after school iReady camps to help close achievement gaps. Other programs being offered this year to assist our students and families include Response to Intervention, School Counseling, Social Worker support and Bilingual services. We plan to once again expand student access to technology with the purchase of hundreds of student laptops. We may also offer clubs on campus, such as Dance, Environmental, Chorus, Chess, giving our students an opportunity to develop additional skills and talents.

Close collaboration between school and home is essential for the success of our students. We encourage parents to review the information provided in our school’s website, teacher communication apps to gain familiarity of school policies, procedures and services that are available at our school. We also encourage our parents to visit our school and attend scheduled meetings. Mutual benefits build when there is meaningful exchange of information between home and school.

Boulevard Heights Elementary has a volunteer program in place for many years now. Our PTA, School Advisory Council and School Advisory Forum are always actively looking for parent participants. I urge you to join and support PTA in whatever manner your schedule allows. Your child will benefit. Finally, our school has been recognized with the Golden School Award by the State of Florida for outstanding volunteer participation.

We look forward to another successful 2020-2021 school year. Together we will travel to new and exciting places and achieve new heights. Bon Voyage!

Mr. Juan Alejo, Principal                                             Mrs. Sylvia Gonzalez, Assistant Principal
