What is an SIP?
School Improvement Plan (SIP): A School Improvement Plan containing specific objectives and action steps for achieving Florida's educational goals is required by Florida. The SAC has the primary responsibility for monitoring the implementation of the annual SIP. The SIP must be approved by the School Board.
The School Improvement Plan (SIP) is the dynamic document that keeps a school focused and on track as school staff work throughout the school year towards overall improvement and success for every student.
The School Improvement Plan (SIP) is a set of goals, objectives and action steps, that drives our educational activities relating to school improvement and education accountability. Parents, teachers, and administrators all have a role in developing these goals. In the fall, each School Improvement Team, meets to establish the School Improvement Plan (SIP) with specific goals for Pompano Beach High School. The teams use information from the prior year’s SIP, standardized test results, the District’s benchmark study, and school-specific information to formulate goals with explicit deliverables or actions and accountability measures.
The plan addresses issues relative to budget, training, instructional materials, technology, staffing, student support services, specific school safety and discipline strategies, and other matters of resource allocation, as determined by district school board policy, and is based on an analysis of student achievement and other school performance data.
