Economic Study

  • The Washington Economics Group, Inc., (WEG) was retained by the Broward County Public Schools system (BCPS) as independent consultants to estimate the economic impacts and economic development benefits to Broward County that could be generated by the passage of the General Obligation Bond (GOB) to fund capital improvements.

The proposed GOB would fund the much needed capital improvements to the school facilities including technological equipment, indoor air quality, school safety systems, music and athletic equipment, as well as renovations to more than 30 million square feet of school buildings to provide the students with state-of-the-art 21st Century facilities.
