School's Dress Code
Our School Dress Code
Coral Park Elementary has a unified dress code. Students’ adherence to our dress code is important in helping us identify those that belong on campus.
Children should wear polo type shirts. The acceptable colors are navy blue, white, light blue, turquoise and yellow. School t-shirts, sold by the PTA will continue to be permitted as well as t-shirts that are purchased as part of a Coral Park Club fund-raising activity.
The colors for shorts, skorts, long pants, jumpers and skirts are navy blue, black, white and khaki.
During cold weather, sweatshirts, sweaters and jackets in navy, white, black, light blue or gray.
Socks and shoes should be worn in accordance with the uniform attire and color scheme. All shoes must be fully closed
These clothing items are available at numerous outlets including Macy's , J.C. Penneys, Target, GAP, Sears, Walmart, Steinmart, etc.
If your child has out grown their unified dress clothes and you would like to donate them to our uniform closet, we would love to have them. Please bring washed and folded clothes bagged to the front office.
Benefits of a Uniform Policy
Research suggests that school uniforms
- Improve discipline, self-esteem and self-respect.
- Focus the student towards learning.
- Eliminate the fear of whether their clothing choice will be acceptable by peers.
- Strengthens school pride.
- Identify student population from strangers on school grounds.
- Cost effective.
All children should start wearing their school uniform on the very first day of school this August. Please call the school if you have any questions or concerns.
A Parent or Guardian may request by mail, or in person, an application for an exemption from the uniform program. Exemption waivers must be completed by the 10th day of the student's enrollment.
