Assistant Principal's Message

  • Assistant Principal Phillips

    Dear Community,

It truly takes a village to run a school and with that in mind, I would like to thank the teachers, parents, volunteers PTO and facilities personnel.  Everybody works hard to make a difference in our students' lives.  To become a volunteer, go to the website getinvolvedineducation.com and submit the Volunteer Application.  This must be done every year as the Volunteer Services Department updates their database.  It will take approximately two weeks to have your application approved so please do it in a timely manner.

We continue to collect BoxTops for Education labels and aluminum tabs from cans for Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald House helps families of very ill children. It is a very worthy organization. Dania Elementary turns in the aluminum tabs to a recycler who weighs them (so the more the better), calculates their worth and issues a check directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Boxtops for Education labels are worth ten cents each and boy, do those dimes add up!  This money is used to purchase incentives and materials for students.  Your support of these programs is appreciated.

As I walk through classrooms, I feel proud  to be part of a school with such dedicated  teachers as they work hard to raise student achievement. Parents, I hope you take advantage of the many Title 1 Academic Family Nights that our teachers plan and implement.

Feel free to contact me with any suggestions or concerns you may have.  We pride ourselves with an open door policy.

    Sincerely,
    Leslie Phillips,
    Assistant Principal
