  • Early Dismissal Procedure

    If your parent wants to dismiss you from school using FAX or EMAIL or authorize an adult NOT on your emergency list to dismiss you, have them write a letter including their phone # and a copy of your parent's driver's license to:

    No Sign Outs After 2:10 pm

  • Anti-Bullying

    The School Board of Broward County, Florida expressly prohibits bullying, including cyberbullying, by or towards any student or employee.  

    Students, Parents, and Staff can Anonymously Report Bullying, safety issues, drugs, weapons, or other such issues to the Broward County Public Schools via the Silence Hurts Tip-lines at:

    • Send a text to CRIMES (274637). The message MUST begin with SBBC.

  • School Passes

    10-10 RULES 
    NO PASSES for the first 10 or last 10 minutes of class.

    NO PASSES after 2:20 pm
    (Color Coded by Area) Please use the bathroom assigned to your teacher's building. If you are caught “Out of Area” Security will take you to your administrator. Example: You are in Ms. Herzfeld’s room (710) you must use the bathroom in the 700 building.

    (Blue) Only Academic Teachers can issue this pass, NOT your personalization teacher.  Personalization teachers will use a (Yellow) pass to send students to the Media Center, Student Affairs, etc.

    You will not be able to use any of these passes without your MSD ID.

  • Drugs/Tobacco & Vaping

    (Includes, but not limited to Juul, Vapes with Tobacco or THC, Alcohol, Medications, Drug Paraphernalia, and any Mind/Mood Altering Substance)

     - The use, possession, sale, attempted sale or transmittal of tobacco or tobacco related products on school property, school sponsored transportation, or during a school sponsored activity is prohibited.

    - The use, possession, and/or being under the influence of mood-altering substances is prohibited.

    - Use/possession of unauthorized substances is prohibited.

    - Being under the influence of unauthorized substances is prohibited.

    - Sale, attempted sale, and/or transmittal is prohibited.

  • Make Up Work

    Revised Make Up Work Policy 6000.1:

    1. Make-up work shall be accepted for full credit and grade for excused and unexcused absences.

    2. All make-up work must be submitted within two days upon return to the missed class, not including the day of return, for each day of an absence.

    3. When assignments and appropriate instruction are provided prior to the absence, make-up work (including major projects) is due on the day of return to the missed class.

    4. Under extenuating circumstances and at teacher’s discretion, additional time may be allowed.

    BCPS teachers are not permitted to deviate from policy by further restricting a student's right to have work accepated after an absence. 

    Once you are absent more than 30 hours in a quarter your participation in extra-curricular activities may be suspended. 

  • ID Badges

    IDs must be worn at all times around your neck (not around your backpack).

  • Absence Reporting

    If you are going to be ABSENT from school, please have your parents call our hotline:  754-322-2152.

    You have 48 hours to report an Absence.

    It is the student's responsibility to find out what work/assignments they missed.

    Once you are absent more than 30 hours in a quarter your participation in extra-curricular activities may be suspended. 

  • Dress Code

    Know the Code…The Dress Code

    • No HATS/Bandanas/Hoodies covering your head. (Exception: religious head coverings which must be cleared with an administrator). 
    • No Midriffs!! No SHORT Shorts 
    • No THIN Spaghetti Straps

    This is your Place of Business - let your wardrobe reflect that.

    If you are sent to the office for a dress code violation, you will be given Alternate Clothes and may be spending the day in Internal Suspension if you are a repeat offender!

  • Tardy

    Tardy (def.): The failure to be in a place of instruction at the assigned time.

    1st Offense = Warning

    2nd Offense = Warning and/or Phone call home

    3rd 4th & 5th Offense = After School detention

    6th & 7th Offense OR failure to Serve After School Detentions = Disciplinary Referral-Internal Suspension (Habitual Tardiness)

    8th Tardy OR Failure to Attend Internal Suspension (T.R.A.C.S.) = Disciplinary Referral – External Suspension (Habitual Defiance)

    Tardy detentions are Served on Wednesdays from 2:45 - 3:30 pm in the cafeteria.
