Rule 6A-1.094121, F.A.C., was approved by the State Board of Education on July 17, 2019. This rule establishes a minimum of five hours of required instruction related to mental and emotional health education for students in grades 6-12 and institutes procedures for school districts to document planning and delivery of instruction.
The following planning document was developed for implementation in Broward County Public Schools by a workgroup that represented school principals, district administrators, principal supervisors, content area experts, vendors, and the Broward Teachers’ Union. It was submitted to the FLDOE on 11/26/2019 and posted to this website on the same date. As implementation will be an iterative process, this planning document may be changed throughout the school year.
