    Congratulations to the boys and girls tennis teams for their continued winnning streak the last 2 weeks! Topping Springs, Nova, Glades & Pompano, outstanding playing and sportsmanship by Toby Bower, Veda Ojha, Carlos Arvelo, Matt Baron, Ben Tichauer, Connor Fox, Josh & Matt Rosenthal. Special congrats to Anne Pretner, Erika Wilczek, Manuela Ford and Martina Rojas. Coaches are proud of all of you!

    Girls water polo won their first game in two years, a cathartic 13-7 victory, against South Plantation. Boys also defeated South Plantation 23-15.

    Students participating in the State Competition, there is a mandatory practice today in Mrs. Garcia's room at 2:45.

    FFEA is looking for teams of teachers and students to battle it out on the stage in the 2020 MSD Lip Synch Battle. Do you think you have what is takes to win the 1st Place trophy? See Ms. Burgin in portable 9 for more details!

    The MSD Muslim Student Association will be hosting a Henna fundraiser today in the cafeteria during both lunches next to the L counter. All payments will be made in cash and prices range from $2 -$5.

    The boys volleyball team will be hosting a fundraiser at Chipotle on University Drive on March 3rd from 5pm-9pm. Please help spread the word and come show your support! Go Eagles 🙂

    Please help me congratulate Elisabeth Mitchell for her selection as the MSD JROTC Cadet of the Year. She will go on to represent our school in the district competition next month where we know she will do well.

    It was a big big win and a big big week for the French students who participated in the District World Language Competition this year. They represented MSD in a commendable manner. We want to congratulate the following French students for their efforts:

    Arielle Snow, 1st place (declamation), 2nd place (impromptu)
    Charline Sarrazit, 1st place (declamation) 1st place (impromptu)

    Today, a representative from UF Dual enrollment will be here at 10 am to conduct a presentation on their program. If you have a 3.6 unweighted gpa or higher and have any of the following: SAT 1100+ or PSAT 1130+ or ACT 22+ you are welcome to attend. Stop by guidance to collect a pass.

    Despite some tight last minute rescheduling, the boy and girl waterpolo teams played against Westminster academy last night. Anna Crean stopped 12 shots and Alyssa Berke led goal scoring with two goals among 5 scorers in a tough defeat. Boy lost 16-13 despite fifteen saves from John Wilford and 6 goals from Lawrence Grygorenko. Our next games will be at South Broward on Thursday.

    HOPE Sunshine Club meets today at 2:45 in Room 211. New members are welcome! Come and share your stress and ways to deal with it.

    Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the County World Language Competition on Saturday for their excellent performances in declamation, impromptu speech, talent, posters and projects. You made us all very proud! Please attend our brief award ceremony to receive your prizes on Wednesday, February 26 in Mrs. Garcia's room right after school.

    The Eagles wrestling team qualified 8 wrestlers to this coming week's regional championships. The 8 qualifiers were the 3rd most amount of qualifiers in the 9-team district.  Quinn Heller and Josh Frais placed 2nd. Daniel Alvarez, Issac Briones, Donald Goldstein, Fenthon Aristhomene, and Reyko Del Pino placed 3rd, and Tucker Jean placed.   Best of luck to the wrestling Eagles at the Regional wrestling championships!

    Come celebrate National Tortilla Day today with Best Buddies Club.  They are having a fundraiser at Chipotle 4600 N University Drive Coral Springs,  (corner of Wiles and University) from 4-8.

    Congratulations to MSD’s NHS Brain Brawl team for winning the Broward County Brain Brawl Championship! MSD, the North Area champion, defeated Cooper City, the South Area champion, at Coral Glades High last night. Team Members are:

    Last night the MSD wrestling Eagles closed out the regular season with wins over Taravella, Fort Lauderdale, Abdundant Life Christian, and Coral Glades.  This year's Eagles team only had 2 wrestlers with more than 2 years of experience out of 30 wrestlers and with their team wins last night the Eagles finished the regular season with a 18-4 record for the season!  The JV will finish their season tomorrow with the JV County championships at Nova High School. The varsity will start their post season district championship next Saturday at Park Vista.  The Eagles would like to wish Sara Ochoa the best of luck as she competes in the girl's state championships this weekend at Dr. Phillip's High School in Orlando. Sara placed 3rd last year!

    Girls and Boys Water Polo played Nova on 2/12. The Boys defeated Nova 21-19. Alan Shihman led with 12 goals.  The Girls rallied in the 4th quarter scoring 4 points, but ended with a 16-9 loss. First year player Emily Rosa led with 6 goals.

    On Saturday, the JROTC drill team placed 2nd overall out of 8 teams at a competition at Hollywood Hills HS. They placed in the top 3 in 8 out of 10 events. Congratulations!
