PTA - Get Involved!
Get Involved with the CSMS PTA!
Welcome back to all returning families and a big HELLO to all of our new families. We are so proud and honored to work with an amazing group of returning parents this year.
While the past school year did not end ideally, we are faced with a new reality of virtual learning for the start of the 2020-21 school year. The CSMS PTA will still be active as the school readies itself for an eventual return to face-to-face learning. We have already discussed ways that PTA funds can be used to supplement cleaning and physical protection protocols in addition to our constant goal of the advancement of student opportunities once school resumes. Although our children will not physically be at school, we are looking towards the future and hope to have a meaningful impact upon their return but we cannot do it without your support.
PTA bylaws have been recently amended to include virtual meetings so that all members may be able to participate and stay involved. We always have at least one member of the CSMS School Administration attending the meeting so it is a great way to stay informed of recent developments and have your questions answered.
Our hope is to continue to provide the school with necessary supplies and those "extras" that district funding does not cover. As a recap, the following items were checked off the Wish List during the 2019-20 school year:
- 300 pairs of over-the-ear headphones for testing
- 250 folding chairs and 8 rolling storage racks
- Classroom subscriptions to 5 different Scholastic magazines including digital access
- Snacks for 2 Honor Roll celebrations (would have been 3)
- Stallion Mascot Costume
- Craft supplies for the 2/14 Day of Service & Love
- A treat for 113 faculty & support staff members from Panera Bread for Teacher Appreciation Week
- And many other projects including the start of a Food Recovery project to eliminate food waste and hunger in our school cafeteria
We want everyone to feel that they are part of the CSMS Community. Please join us at our first ever virtual meeting on Wednesday, September 2nd at 7:00pm. To gain access to the meeting, please purchase your PTA Membership at our online store (https://csms.memberhub.store) and the Meeting ID and Password will be emailed to you prior to the meeting.
We would like to thank you in advance for your support. If you have any ideas on how PTA can support our students and school as we navigate through online learning this Fall, please make sure you join us at our virtual PTA meeting or email us. Have a wonderful school year, and we look forward to "seeing" you at our Microsoft Teams meeting on Wednesday, September 2nd at 7:00pm
