    Dear Rock Family,

Welcome to the season of “Thanksgiving” and “Gratefulness”. We have so much to be thankful for in this season. As you plan for the holiday season remember the importance of creating special memories with family and special friends.

The School Board recently made a revision to the current homework policy. You may visit our website to find out more information. Progress reports also known as report cards will be sent home with every scholar on Friday, November 12th. It’s important that you review your scholar’s progress. Grades are input weekly. I highly recommend that you request a conference with the classroom teacher(s) of your scholars. Every scholar will receive additional documents, which may include a Progress Monitoring Plan (PMP) in reading and/or math, a progress report regarding performance on the status of scholars with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), a letter regarding resources you may utilize at home with your scholar(s) and/or a request for a parent-teacher conference. Progress monitoring plans provide you with information about the types of strategies and support your child may receive daily to help them make progress in math, reading or both. Carefully review the contents of the progress report envelope, sign the envelope and return the envelope to school.

Join us Tuesday, November 2nd for the next School Advisory Council (SAC)/School Advisory Forum (SAF) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting. SAC/SAF will begin at 4:00 pm and SAF/PTA will follow. Our community of teachers looks forward to hearing your input on important matters that relate to curriculum and school-wide decisions that relate to our overall school mission. I will review updates on the homework policy, present how to access Pinnacle using the Broward County Public School (BCPS) Application to track your scholars’ grades and the progress of our students in relation to our 21-22 School Improvement Plan.
Broward County Public Schools has a mobile application you may download. Register today and gain access to receive information, review meal menus, follow our school happenings and much more. Type in the registration link at browardschools.com/mobileapp or download the application using the QR scan code or application store information below.
