Students who become ill at school may request a pass to the clinic (located in the office). If a student is unable to return to class, parents will be notified. Students may not remain at school when ill. It is imperative that the school has at least two current emergency telephone numbers for all students.
Broward County School Board Policy does not permit elementary students to transport medication to or from school. Medication that is administered must be brought to school by the parent and must be properly labeled in its original container.
Any medication, including aspirin, which is administered at school, may be done only if an Authorization for Medication form is on file. This form is available in the office and must be signed by the child's doctor. An updated authorization form is required every school year.
