Welcome To Kindergarten

Will your child be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026? 

If yes, your child will be ready for Kindergarten in Broward County Public Schools next school year!  Kindergarten is a special time for families where many children take their “first step” into BIG SCHOOL, Kids all respond differently to the changes Kindergarten may bring.  While some are excited by new experiences and can’t wait, others may have a tough time with change and be anxious about the Kindergarten experience.  Broward County Public Schools and the Broward Reads Campaign are working together to support the transition for all incoming Kindergarten children.  This includes special events planned throughout the Pre-Kindergarten Year and resources for registering Kindergarten families.

As our District begins preparing to welcome Kindergarten learners to their first day of school in the 2026/27 school year, the Parent and Community Involvement Task Force presented a live online webinar designed to WELCOME families to Kindergarten.  Parent University: Welcome to Kindergarten took place on January 7, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.  Families are invited to watch the webinar recording to learn more about kindergarten in Broward Schools:
