Policy Council

Policy Council Information

Policy Council within Broward County Public School's Head Start program is a decision-making group that allows parents to have a meaningful role in programmatic decisions. The program director works closely with Policy Council to ensure the Head Start program remains in compliance.  Policy Council, the program’s shared governance body, provides parents with the opportunity to have an active role in the Head Start program. Parents elected to Policy Council collaborate with school-based Parent Committees in partnership with program management to shape key policies and decisions related to policymaking, budget, and program management.
