The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is a non-profit organization that governs college athletics in the U.S. It includes over 1,000 member schools and oversees 24 sports across three divisions (I, II, and III), each with different athletic, academic, and financial standards. Founded in 1906 to improve safety and fairness in college sports, its mission is to promote the well-being and success of student-athletes through regional and national competitions.
