DELETE Program Overview
Early Childhood Education houses the Early Head Start, Head Start Preschool, and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten programs.
- The Early Head Start (EHS) program is for pregnant mothers and children up to age two on or before September 1st
- The Head Start Preschool (HSP) program is for children three to four years old on or before September 1st
- The Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program is for children turning four years old on or before September 1st

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
If your child is entering kindergarten after Head Start or Voluntary Pre-K (VPK), placement for kindergarten is NOT guaranteed at the same school. If your child is selected or offered a seat in a Head Start or VPK program that is not your boundary home school, you must apply for and receive a reassignment in order for your child to attend Kindergarten at the same school.
