Parent Committees

Parent Committees within Broward County Public Schools’ Head Start program are composed of parents and guardians of currently enrolled children. These committees serve as a vital link between families and program staff, fostering collaborative partnerships that support the overall development and success of children and their families.

Participation in Parent Committees provides families with the opportunity to contribute to the planning of meetings and provide meaningful input on program activities, policies, and procedures. This engagement ensures that parent perspectives are thoughtfully considered in program decision-making. Parent Committees elect representatives to Policy Council, the program’s shared governance body, which works in partnership with program management and the governing agency to shape key policies and decisions.
