VPK Eligibility

Age Requirements

• The child must be 4 years old on or before September 1st of the current school year 

• The child must be 3-years-old on or before September 1st of the current school year 

Program Eligibility

• The child must be a resident of the State of Florida 
• Families must be a resident of Broward County 
• Applications must be completed by the legal parent/guardian 
• For free, VPK programs funded by Title I, the student must live within the boundary of a Title I school. Look up your boundary home school.

Children with disabilities, homeless and Foster Care children, who meet the requirements above, are welcomed to apply. 

1. Proof of age (example: child's ORIGINAL birth certificate) 
2. Proof of Broward County residency 
3. Parent’s photo identification (driver’s license, State ID, etc.) 
4. Obtain a VPK Certificate of Eligibility (for children turning 4 years old on or before September 1st). In order to do this, parents must submit an application to the State's Family Portal.
