Varying Exceptionalities Program

Varying Exceptionalities (VE) is an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program designed for students with diverse learning needs who require increased levels of support.

 

Kids

  • ESE self-contained classes for students with varying exceptionalities where they are receiving direct instruction from a dually certified teacher.
  • Intended to serve students who require maximum support and services delivered within a smaller, specialized learning environment.
  • Self-contained ESE classes taught by dually certified teachers, providing academic courses as identified by the IEP team.
  • Full exposure to rigorous, standards-based instruction with a smaller class size.
  • Lower ratio of staff to students with a shared classroom paraprofessional, resulting in smaller class sizes.
  • Strategic scheduling of students, allowing them to travel and transition together throughout the school day with adult supervision.
  • Participate in general ed. electives with typical peers.

  • Increase ESE programming to our secondary students on standards.
  • Increases teacher capacity at the school level.
  • Aligns the continuum of services with the tri-count area.
