Grants Administration

The mission of the Grants Administration (GA) Department is to maximize resources available to the District to improve educational services and to ensure shared success of grant implementation.

 Department Functions Overview:

  1. Grant Opportunity Dissemination
  • Share funding opportunities from local, state, federal, and private sources with schools/departments
  1. Grant Development & Technical Assistance
  • Provide technical assistance, proposal review and editing, grant writing, and budget development
  • Coordinate inter-departmental grant proposal development efforts
  • Deliver grant writing capacity-building workshops
  1. Proposal Submission & Stewardship
  • Submit proposals on behalf of schools and departments, including forms, signatures, and School Board approval
  • Facilitate Charter School applications when part of District’s proposal
  • Facilitate annual Private School consultation for federal grant programs
  • Coordinate annual Florida Department of Education Federal Self-Monitoring Protocol
  1. Grant Management & Support
  • Assist with budget amendments, program amendments, and no-cost extensions
  • Steward all Grant Agreements for schools and departments
  • Advocate for grant managers to resolve issues affecting program implementation
  1. Data & Resource Management
  • Maintain a database of submitted and funded grant proposals and grant agreements
  • Produce grant-related resources (e.g., newsletters, databases, guides)
  • Track grant data to identify funding gaps 

With a focus on diversification of funding sources, student achievement, and strategic plan alignment; the Grants Administration department uses a collaborative team approach to provide high-level customer service to schools and District departments in support of their grant-seeking efforts.
