Certification

The Broward County Public Schools Certification Department supports both aspiring and experienced educators in obtaining and maintaining a valid Florida Educator’s Certificate. In collaboration with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), we offer a range of certification-related services. 

Florida law requires valid certifications for all instructional personnel, including teachers, athletic coaches, school or department-based administrators, and others. It is each employee’s responsibility to secure, monitor, and renew their certificate through their personal FLDOE account. This includes: 

  • Verifying certificate issuance 

  • Reviewing communications from the Bureau of Educator Certification 

  • Submitting any additional required documentation 

While our department is available to provide guidance and support, educators are ultimately responsible for meeting all certification requirements and deadlines. All renewal or upgrade processes must be completed prior to the certificate’s expiration date.
