Certificate Issuance Request for Charter Schools 

(Submit this form when hiring a teacher who does not currently hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate. NOTE: A Statement of Status of Eligibility is not the same as an Educator Certificate).

Please review this video guide to completing the Certificate Issuance Request prior to submitting a request to our office.

NOTE: Requests that are not completed per instructions and/or are submitted as incomplete will not be processed.

Prior to submitting the Certificate Issuance Request to Talent Acquisition & Operations - Certification, ensure the teacher has been fingerprinted using the information below:

Fingerprint processing and background checks for charter school applicants will be performed by FieldPrint, Inc.  Click here to learn detailed instructions for using FieldPrint.

The hiring location must provide the applicant with the FieldPrint Code in advance of the applicant registering to be fingerprinted through FieldPrint.

Charter Schools-Career Technical Education (CTE) Broward Issued Certificates

(Process for charter schools to request issuance of a district-issued vocational certificate).

Per Florida Statue 1012.39, six years of full-time occupational experience in the area has been reduced to three years of full-time experience or the appropriate secondary training and two years of full-time experience. 

A Broward vocational certificate will be issued to teachers who hold at least a high school diploma or the equivalent based on general education development tests approved by the State Board and can document occupational experience in the vocational area including recency of experience.

Self-employment or experience in a family-owned business must be verified by the accountant or attorney of record verifying the type of business and the services provided by the business. Verification forms must be notarized.  Provide verification of a high school or GED graduate if required in the vocational position. 

Examine the list of VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATION COVERAGES to determine if your trade or occupation is listed.
