Family Counseling Program

Family therapists help with many family and emotional problems by offering free counseling for individuals and families. When someone has emotional struggles, it can affect their daily life. For students, this often shows up as problems at school. Sometimes school problems are signs of bigger issues. Family therapists also help with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship troubles, stress, communication skills, and other personal challenges.

Empowering Students, Strengthening Families

For over 30 years, the Family Counseling Program (FCP) has been a cornerstone of support for students and families across Broward County. Through individual, family, and group counseling, FCP has consistently helped improve:

Academic performance
Responsible behavior in school
Regular attendance

Our mission is to help students reach their maximum potential in the classroom while promoting optimal mental health and family functioning.

Preventive Counseling Services

FCP also provides preventive counseling to address early signs of behavioral and emotional challenges. These services help students develop healthy coping strategies and interpersonal skills in areas such as:

Difficulty verbalizing feelings
Difficulty concentrating or maintaining task focus
Trouble forming or maintaining relationships
Defiance toward faculty/staff
Infractions of school rules
Verbal altercations with peers
Physical aggression
