B-Stock items are classified as equipment, supplies, or inventory that the school/department no longer can utilize.

General Public

B-Stocks online auction that may be accessed at www.publicsurplus.com by the general public and District personnel. Customers must register prior to bidding on an item. Auctions are typically posted for five (5) to ten (10) days. Items purchased may be paid by credit card, money order, or cashier's check.

District Employees

B-Stock surplus inventory is available to schools and departments throughout the District at no charge. Generally, items are in functional used and/or new condition. B-Stock staff are available for the pickup and delivery of surplus materials. District personnel are encouraged to take advantage of this valuable service.

Warehousing Services Assistance Request Form

Central Processing Lab (CPL) documents and catalogs all instructional materials and handles the revitalization of school-based media centers. CPLs principal activities relate to the acquisition, preparation, shelving, and relocation/reallocation of media materials for Broward County Public Schools and Centers.

Inventory System

The Destiny web-based software system is utilized to identify materials, generate Dewey decimal identification, create MARC records, and input item(s) into the District-wide library collection database.

Services CPL Provides:

• CPL assists with basic library operations, such as: processing new instructional materials, weeding out obsolete materials, and annual physical inventory. The objective is 100 percent compliance with School Board Policy 6317 (School Media Centers).
• When school locations and centers undergo renovations, CPL supports the organization and shelving of media center collections.

The Central Stockroom provides maintenance, repair, and operational (MRO) materials to the Physical Plant Operations (PPO) trades staff and school-based maintenance staff for the upkeep and preservation of District-wide facilities. The goal is to provide the right part, price, and quantity in a timely manner.

The Central Warehouse purchases and maintains inventory, and provides delivery service to schools and departments. Primary materials are custodial, cafeteria, maintenance, and operational supplies.

The Warehouse Catalog has been combined with the Source Determination Material List and is now available on the Procurement & Logistic Operations SharePoint.

Vendor Delivery Information

Deliveries are made between the hours of 7:00 am and 1:30 pm. All deliveries must be made by appointment only. To schedule a delivery, please call P: 754-321-4725

Mail Services (Pony Room) delivers and picks up interoffice mail and communications from all schools, centers, and departments throughout the District during the school year. Departments receive mail service from Monday through Friday and schools on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The Textbook Warehouse handles books and associated teaching materials which are out of adoption. The staff works with the Innovative Learning and Arts Department to providing students and teachers of Broward County Public Schools with access to specialized instructional materials in a timely and effective manner.

Non-Profit Organizations

Donations of surplus instructional materials are available to non-profit organizations upon approval of the Superintendents Screening Committee. Non-profit organizations wishing to obtain donations of surplus materials must provide a written request to the Superintendents Screening Committee. Once approved, the organization will receive a letter authorizing a donation. Not all surplus materials are available for donation and requests will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Government Entities Florida Statute 1006.41

Entities must provide a request in writing on the organization's letterhead and a form of personal identification must be provided. Not all surplus materials are available for donation and requests will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The request should be sent to Warehousing Services or faxed to 754-321-4775.

Individual Purchases

Individual textbooks are available for purchase every Wednesday from 7:00am to 1:00pm at the cost of $1.00 per copy.

Please keep in mind:

1. Non-profit organizations requesting a surplus materials donation must provide a written request to the Superintendents Screening Committee
